Tub Larn National Park is the biggest Fan Palm forest in Thailand. It is the second largest national park in Thailand with total area of 2,240 square kilometers (1,400,000 Rais). The area within this national park offers various activities regarding the study of nature and wildlife. It has the plain and mountainous areas, some of its areas is in the Panom Dongrak mountain ridge with its highest point in Lamonk mountain. The Lamonk mountain is the line separating Prajinburi Province from Nakorn Ratchasima Province with the height of 992 meters from the mean sea level. Tub Larn forest is the origin of various rivers and creeks such as Huay Kamin, Huay Pla Kang, Huay Kum Sae, Huay Kee Rad, Huay Moon Sam Ngam, Huay Poo Hom, Huay Kra Ting, Huay Lum Lek, Huay Kood Tah See, and Huay Lum Duan, which come to meet one another and become Moon River, one of the important rivers of Northeastern Region. In addition, it is the origin of Huay Hin Yao, Huay Chom Poo, Huay Salika, Huay Wang Mid, and Huay Lam Yai Yaii, which are the origin of Bang Pa Kong River, one of the important rivers of Eastern Region. Regarding wild animals, tourists will meet almost 40 wild elephants, barking deer, deer, and various types of birds. You will also see various kinds of herbs.
Conservation Tourism Center at Kao Poo Luang Forest
Kao Poo Luang forest is the new alternative tourist attraction in National Conservation Forest of Kao Poo Luang Forest, Baan Klong Som Boon, Ra Rerng Sub-district, Wangnamkeaw District, Nakorn Ratchasima Province covering the area of 170,000 Rais. It is the mountain ridge with dry evergreen forests for the total distance of 40 Kilometers. It has conservation tourism center with permanent officers so people can study nature in all aspects and it also offers various activities and accommodations in both house and tent.
Paeng Mah Mountain
Paeng Mah mountain is close to Kao Yai National Park located from Wangnamkeaw District from 304 road or Sueb Siri Road from Nakorn Ratchasima to Prajinburi Province. It is the place for sightseeing, camping, studying nature, and animal watching, especially a big group of bison. Paeng Mah Mountain, in the past, is the same forestry areas as Kao Yai. It is full of abundance, various types of wild animals, the origin of various rivers and creeks that come together and become Pra Plerng creek and go to Moon River. It is considered the main life of people in Northeastern Region.
Moon Long Mountain and Moon Sam Ngam Mountain
In the past, they are the same forestry areas as Dong Phaya Fai which is the line separating eastern and northeastern region. Currently, the forestry areas have been rehabilitated until they are abundant as in the past years. Tourists can study the natural environment because this areas has the route for people who are interested in studying the nature and there are also a variety of wild animals. It is located in Moo 2, Thai Samukkee Sub-district, Wangnamkeaw District, Nakorn Ratchasima Province.
Sa Kae Raj Environmental Research Center (Biosphere Reserve)
Sa Kae Raj Environmental Research Center has been classified as the Biosphere Reserve of the world under the responsibility of the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research. Tourists can study nature and various types of trees here. It is located on 304 road located only 10 Kilometers from Wangnamkeaw District. It also provides seminar buildings and accommodations.
Salad Dai Mountain
The viewpoint at Salad Dai Mountain is one of the important tourist attractions in Thai Samukkee Sub-district. You can see very beautiful scenery here. The government has constructed Repeater Station of the Telephone Organization of Thailand on the top of this mountain. Tourists love to see the natural scenery and sea of fog in the morning here.
Chom Ta Wan Cliff
It is located at Moo 6 of Baan Huay Yai Tai. The Sub-district Administration Organization of Thai Samukkee Sub-district and Moon River Conservation Group has cooperated to grow the forests in order to be the relaxation point and camping area. This area has waterfalls on both sides of the road. You can see beautiful scenery and there is Huay Yai Taii Waterfall on the down side of the area. It is very beautiful in rainy season. Here, you can see beautiful scenery of the national forest and creeks that are the origin of Huay Ta Kae and Huay Yai Taii waterfalls. There is a stone cliff so you can also touch the scenery of Tub Larn National Park and Suan Hom waterfall, including mountain ridge that is the separation point of Nadee District, Prajinburi Province (Eastern Region) and Wangnamkeaw District, Nakorn Ratchasima Province (Northeastern Region). It is on the down side of Huay Yai waterfall.
Wang Jarakae Waterfall
This area is under the responsibility of Sub-district Administration Organization of Thai Samukkee Sub-district. This organization has improved the scenery and road in order to develop this area to be tourist attraction. It is the most beautiful waterfall of Thai Samukkee Sub-district because it is a long waterfall with clear water in the marsh so people can play and swim throughout the year. This waterfall is the watershed area of Tub Larn National Park and is one of the waterfalls that are the origin of Bang Pa Kong river of Eastern region. On both sides of Huay Ka Min, it is abundant with nature and thick forests. The entrace to the waterfall is the sidewalk so it is proper for tourists who love hiking, and love to study nature. Wang Jarakae waterfall comes from Klong Kra Ting and join together to be Huay Yai waterfall at Moo 1 Baan Thai Samukkee (Koom Klong Kra Ting), Thai Samukkee Sub-district, Wangnamkeaw District, Nakorn Ratchasima Province.
Huay Yai Waterfall
It is a large waterfall with the height of 60 meters and width of 30 meters. This area is under the responsibility of Sub-district Administration Organization of Thai Samukkee Sub-district. This organization has improved the scenery and road in order to develop this area to be tourist attraction. This waterfall comes down from Huay Yai canal. It has five floors and connects with Suan Hom waterfall of Wangnamkeaw district. Huay Yai waterfall has great quantity of water from July to October. It is located on Moo 6, Baan Huay Yai Tai, Thai Samukkee Sub-district. To access the waterfall, you can use Highway No. 304 until reaching Wangnamkeaw District and turn to Soi Municipal 4 at Saan Chao Por market (79th market) and drive according to the Suan Hom Temple’s Sign and turn left according to the sign to three waterfalls within Tub Larn National Park areas.
Suan Hom Waterfall
It is the waterfall connecting with Huay Yai waterfall located in Tub Larn National Park. This waterfall has great quantity of water in rainy season from July to October also. To access the waterfall, you can use the same route as going to Huay Yai waterfall and turn left to Soi Municipal 4 at Saan Chao Por market (79th market). However, you should use four-wheel drive car in order to be suitable for traveling.
Maan Fah Waterfall
It is located about 100 meters from the north of Huay Yai waterfall. There is a sidewalk from Huay Yai waterfall. This waterfall has great quantity of water from July to October also. It is in Tub Larn National Park areas.
Haew Nok Kok Waterfall
It is a big and beautiful waterfall. The water drops from large cliff areas with the height of 20 meters. This waterfall has quantity of water only in rainy season located in Tub Larn National Park, Nadee district. The entrance is 3 kilometers from the entrance of the National Park using Highway No.304 from Wangnamkeaw district to Kabinburi District
Koon Jone Waterfall
This waterfall is on the route to Conservation Tourism Center at Kao Poo Luang Forest at Baan Non Sao Ae, Wang Mee Sub-district, Wangnamkeaw district, Nakorn Ratchasima Province.
Klong Din Dum Waterfall
This waterfall is also on the route to Conservation Tourism Center at Kao Poo Luang Forest at Baan Non Sao Ae, Wang Mee Sub-district, Wangnamkeaw.
